 Alan HorsfieldAuthor of the Year 1& 2 book in this series Alan has had over 30 years experience as a teacher and school administrator before becoming a director of EJH Talent Promotion Pty Ltd. He had held Principalships in NSW in both state and private schools and in international schools in Papua New Guinea. At present he is promoting children’s literature through the NSW Children’s Book Council (NSW President 1994-96) as well as providing part time consulting/writing services for the UNSW Educational Testing Centre Schools Testing Program in the areas of English, Mathematics and Science and conducting ‘acceleration’ workshops.
He followed up his teaching qualifications with a Bachelor of Arts (University of New England), Bachelor of Education (Deakin University) and a Masters in Education (UNSW). His degrees include teaching Maths, Science, Computer Studies as well as the Arts. He has a number of other qualifications including: TESOL (Massey University NZ), Basic Computer Studies Certificate, School Administration Diploma and a number of literary qualifications (Macquarie University). He has served on state and national committees investigating new directions in Science and Mathematics.
Alan Horsfield has had a series of articles on gifted children published in a national newspaper. He has also written articles for the School Magazine, professional journals including Gifted (Mathematics, English/Language) and Literature Base, as well as regular children’s book reviews for Magpies and Australian Multicultural Book Review. A children’s book and an English Test Book have just been released.
In 1995 he was a judge for the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards.
