Merle GreenAuthor of the Year 3 & 4 Book in this Series Merle trained as an upper primary/lower secondary teacher at the University of London, Goldsmiths College, majoring in Geography.
She was appointed to the British School, Rio de Janeiro, and international preparatory school. Returning to England, she taught children from 7 years to 13 years of age in schools as diverse as a three teacher village school to a large urban school catering for the itinerant population of children of armed service personnel.
On migrating to Australia in 1987, Merle spent a year as Sales
manager for the Australian operations of an international cosmetic
company before taking a position at Abbotsleigh Junior School in
Sydney. She became involved in the education of gifted children, particularly in mathematics and creative thinking, being responsible for designing programs for a number of camps where gifted children are challenged.
In 1993, Merle obtained a Bachelor of Education from the University of New England, Armidale.
In 1995, she became a teacher of the opportunity class at the Australian International School in Singapore.
